Message from Founder
PowerNex was founded in 1997, with its English name derived from the words “Power” and “Nexus,” symbolizing energy and connection. The company's initial business strategy was modeled after MiTAC in manufacturing and Synnex in distribution, guided by a corporate culture emphasizing “Integrity, Quality, Speed, and Service.”
PowerNex originally positioned itself as a diversified power supply provider for customers worldwide. However, due to trademark disputes, this plan was temporarily put on hold, and the company shifted to international marketing under the “MEAN WELL” brand.

In recent years, I have been constantly reflecting on the future development of our company and regularly reading about sustainable development. At the end of 2020, after studying the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in detail, I was inspired to establish the Pan-MEAN WELL SDG Group, encompassing MEAN WELL, PowerNex, and SHARE WELL. In 2021, we relaunched PowerNex, positioning it as the industrial and equity investment platform of the SDG Group. We hope that both long-time partners and new collaborators, as well as all members of the SDG Group, can unite under the shared corporate philosophy of “Reliable Partners, Sustainable Development.” Together, we aim to build more ESG-driven enterprises and contribute to building a better environment for the next generation.
